The Mission to Fix a Broken Process

MercatIQ was born from a mission to fix the fundamental flaws in how businesses conduct buying research. While the internet provides an infinite sea of data, it fails to provide the structured framework necessary to reach a rational and critical decision.

We realized early on that "more information" wasn’t the answer—it was actually the problem. The heavy mental load of manually creating criteria, scoring vendors, and validating claims leads to chronic decision paralysis and a massive energy drain for IT teams. What should be an exciting investment often becomes a fragmented and inefficient struggle.

From Personal Need to Professional Standard

Everything started from a basic need to better organize and structure things in an age of constant information overload. This began as a personal mission to manage daily research, but the true epiphany happened when we looked at our professional lives.

The three of us: Dani, Bogdan, and Sami, have worked together for a long time, navigating complex projects and high-stakes environments as a team. In our daily work, we saw these issues firsthand. We experienced the "wasted time" and "inefficiency" of researching SaaS platforms, software tools, and complex product acquisitions. We realized that while there are plenty of ways to find products, there was no tool designed to help us actually decide on the best one or collaborate effectively on the research.

We spoke with CTOs, COOs, and IT Directors who were tired of relying on "gut feelings." They didn't just want a list of options; they wanted objective evidence and a way to justify high-stakes, $50k+ investments to their stakeholders.

Just the idea that buying research & decisions should be clearer.

The MercatIQ Standard

The MercatIQ Standard

The MercatIQ Standard

We built MercatIQ to be a complete buying research and decision platform for people and teams who need to compare products, evaluate suppliers, and make important decisions with evidence.

It replaces scattered research, hidden assumptions, and manual comparison with one structured process built around live research, clear criteria, consistent scoring, and defensible recommendations.

Comprehensive live research: MercatIQ researches across relevant sources to collect product, vendor, feature, pricing, review, and market evidence for each decision.

Structured evidence: Scattered information is cleaned, organized, and connected to the buying context, so teams are not relying on disconnected notes, summaries, or assumptions.

Objective decision logic: Every option is evaluated through clear criteria, weighted priorities, consistent scoring, and visible trade-offs.

Defensible recommendations: The final choice is supported by research evidence and a transparent decision trail, making it easier to review, explain, and defend.
